J´ Est un Autre

Rimbaud dixit. But... how many autres does Bob Dylan have?

The Poet: Intellectual, direct to the audience, philosopher and metaphysical, talking with aphorisms. Ben Wishaw adds rationalism to his natural romanticism and the portrait is fantastic, to me the most mysterious of the six. I miss more screen time, though.

The Prophet: mystical, hurt, committed, musical, political, pure scent of folk. In a few minutes and a fantastic song (and two more with Dylan´s voice), Christian Bale touches our heart with his sensitivity and gives us the Dylan with faith in a better world, the Dylan who wants to change things., who believes in his art.

The Ghost: ironic, drug-addict, psychedelic, cynical, conformist, successful. Cate Blanchett portraits, the Dylan most criticized, the most surrealistic, the Dylan who "sold himself"... the Dylan most funny too. Her work is awesome: she is Bob Dylan. Incredible voice.

The Fugitive: Nostalgic, melancholic, sad, alone, quiet... The village one. Richard Gere has the most bizarre fragment, people may say it´s boring, I think it´s slow but with a lot of peace and with so much symbolism... I´ve liked it a lot, all these animals around the country, the giraffe... And the best musical number, the funeral scene, is in this part too.

The Electric Star: Famous, egocentric, selfish, sexist, hyperactive, art-loving, familiar, negligent. Heath Ledger is the actor who plays Bale´s character in a film. Fantastic idea, the actor is also a part of the artist´s personality. And one of the best parts. Thanks to Heath, but the star of this fragment is another person...

The Fake:Mature, rogue, traveler, liar, chatterbox, witty, precocious... Fantastic Marcus Carl Franklin, themost surprising of all Dylans, he is gorgeous talking about liquor and alcoholism, borken hearts, his experiences playing the guitar with famous musicians... A source of wisdom and wit. The discovery.
